RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & Close

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process across all legal entities, trusts, partnerships, and affiliated organizations
  • Prepare timely financial statements, management reports, cash flow analyses, and executive reporting packages for the CEO
  • Prepare quarterly financial reporting for family trustees, including entity performance, liquidity, and cash reporting

Accounting Operations

  • Lead the day-to-day accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, account reconciliations, and financial reporting

  • Manage banking relationships, treasury activities, cash positioning, wire transfers, trust notes, and daily liquidity monitoring

Multi-Entity & Family Office Accounting

  • Manage accounting across a complex legal structure consisting of LLCs, partnerships, trusts, investment entities, and affiliated operating businesses
  • Maintain entity-level financial records in accordance with operating agreements, trust documents, and governing legal structures
  • Track and reconcile capital contributions, distributions, partner capital accounts, and intercompany transactions
  • Maintain accounting records and reconciliations for complex intercompany and related-party activity across the family office structure, including entity funding, allocations, accruals, settlements, and supporting documentation

Tax & Compliance

  • Serve as the primary liaison with external tax advisors, auditors, and other professional service providers
  • Manage tax calendars to ensure timely filing of all federal, state, and local obligations
  • Support annual K-1 preparation through maintenance of investment-level detail, capital accounts, cost basis, and partnership activity
  • Support estate planning and trust administration matters by coordinating financial records, entity reporting, tax workpapers, and supporting documentation for outside tax advisors, estate counsel, and fiduciaries
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and governing agreements
  • Support audits, reviews, examinations, and other compliance initiatives as needed

Treasury & Cash Management

  • Monitor daily liquidity across all entities and maintain accurate short- and long-term cash forecasts
  • Coordinate funding needs between trusts, investment entities, and operating companies
  • Assist leadership with capital planning, liquidity management, and treasury strategy
  • Maintain relationships with banking institutions and other financial service providers
  • Prepare and monitor debt compliance as applicable

Systems, Controls & Process Improvement

  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize accounting systems and financial technologies appropriate for a sophisticated family office environment

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Family Office Director to lead the establishment and ongoing management of a newly formed, first-generation family office based in Rye, NY.
