POSITION SUMMARY

The family is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the Director of the Family Office in managing the day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and investment reconciliation activities of the family office. This individual will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities, including family trusts, LLCs, and investment accounts, while supporting reporting, reconciliation, and operational finance functions across the office. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to think critically about financial information across a variety of asset types.

The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Director of the Family Office, external accountants, investment managers, and advisors, and will help ensure the accuracy and integrity of the office’s financial records and reporting processes.

This position is well suited for a motivated accounting professional who is eager to take ownership of core accounting functions while gaining exposure to the broader financial operations of a sophisticated family office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting & Financial Operations

Maintain the general ledger and supporting accounting records across multiple family entities, trusts, and investment vehicles

Prepare and record journal entries, manage accounts payable and receivable processes, and support daily accounting operations

Perform monthly bank, brokerage, and credit card reconciliations

Maintain accurate financial records for mortgages, loans, intra-family transactions, and business expense reimbursements

Investment Accounting & Reconciliation

Perform regular reconciliation of investment accounts across custodians and internal reporting systems

Financial Reporting

Assist in the preparation of financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules

Support the preparation of quarterly reporting for family members, trustees, and advisors

Assist with developing and tracking budgets and actual expenditures across family entities and properties

Tax & External Advisor Coordination

Work closely with the Director of the Family Office and outside public accounting firm to prepare materials for annual tax filings

Maintain supporting documentation and reconciliations required for tax preparation

Assist with gathering documentation for K-1 reporting and other investment-related tax materials

Support coordination with external advisors including accountants, attorneys, and investment managers

Financial Administration & Documentation

Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation across entities and investments

Assist with maintaining schedules for trusts, investments, and other family assets

Support improvements to accounting processes, recordkeeping, and internal financial

QUALIFICAIONS

The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent analytical skills, and the intellectual curiosity to understand complex financial structures typical within a family office environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

5–10 years of accounting experience, preferably within a family office, wealth management firm, public accounting firm, or investment environment

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards

Self-motivated with a desire to grow and build a long-term career within a family office environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex financial information

A private family office based in New York is seeking a Chief of Staff to support the Principal and serve as a central integrator across the office and its related activities.

The office is responsible for managing both the day-to-day operations and longer-term initiatives across the family’s activities, including project-level coordination, vendor relationships, and cross-functional execution. The Chief of Staff will play a key role in ensuring alignment, visibility, and disciplined execution across this complex and interconnected environment.

The family office represents a Principal who is actively involved in real estate construction and operations and who splits time between New York City and the Hamptons. POSITION OVERVIEW

Monitor spending and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness across estate operations

Oversee the implementation of comprehensive maintenance schedules across properties (e.g., HVAC systems, windows, kitchen equipment, pools, and seasonal requirements)

Partner with facilities and household staff to ensure timely execution of preventative maintenance and service activities

Provide oversight and coordination on construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and project execution

ABOUT THE ROLE

A private family office based in New York is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of the office and its related entities. The Controller will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations while also providing financial oversight across a portfolio that includes real estate investments, construction projects, operating entities, and personal and trust entities. The role will also oversee project-level financial tracking, vendor payment processes, and employee expense management, ensuring disciplined controls and financial transparency across all entities.

This position is suited for a hands-on accounting leader who can both manage the operational details of accounting and bill pay while also providing strategic oversight of financial systems, reporting, and treasury management. The family office represents a Principal who is actively involved in real estate construction and operations, and who splits time between New York City and the Hamptons. The role will be remote, with the expectation that the Controller will be available to come onsite to the Principal’s New York City and Hamptons properties from time to time, as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Leadership & Oversight

Oversee all financial, accounting, and internal control activities across the family office and related entities

Maintain accurate financial records and reporting across multiple legal entities, including real estate holdings, operating entities, and personal family structures
